In this technical hands-on workshop Don and Andy will be providing a sandbox with security incidents for you to discover. A SIEM will be provided with guidance and light instruction so students can learn through doing. Logging recommendations and options for setting up your own test environment will also be presented. Ideal for auditors or managers who want to understand what security analysts do, or junior security analysts who are just getting started. Level 1.
Requirements for Students: Laptop with an Ethernet port. A USB-to-Ethernet adapter will be needed if the laptop does not have an Ethernet port. The latest version of Chrome or Firefox should be downloaded and installed prior to attending. All lab activities will be performed using a web browser.
